Foundation support is vital to the Hippodrome’s continued efforts to provide our north central Florida with professional live theater, art-house cinema programming as well as outreach and educational opportunities.

Government Support
Government funding directly supports the Hippodrome’s dedication to creation and presentation of professional theatre productions, as well as to the development of innovative education and outreach programs. Depending on priorities of the funding organization, grants can be given for the support of general operating expenses or earmarked for a particular initiative.
Hippodrome programs are sponsored in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs, the Florida Council on Arts and Culture; a Tourist Development Tax Grant from the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners in conjunction with the Alachua County Tourist Development Council; and by the City of Gainesville, Dept. of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs.
