Artistic Intern Opportunity
Submissions due June 1, 2022
Started in 2020, The Hippodrome Theatre’s annual New Works Festival was created to support narrative voices through the development and exploration of plays in traditional and experimental formats representing the diverse landscape of artists in Florida and their stories which reveal the American experience based on the kaleidoscope of identity.
This year, the producers are committed to inviting an emerging theater artist from the Gainesville community to act as an “Artistic Intern” that assists the producer and learns how to produce and curate a festival.
We are interested in actors, stage managers, or dramaturgs for this internship.
Internship will begin on August 1, 2022 with the remote reading of submitted scripts and attending zoom meetings with the producers on play selection
Interns will work in-person starting September 1, 2022.
Internship will end of November 6, 2022 unless candidate desires to extend to other opportunities (i.e. dramaturgy, stage management, or acting internship through end of semester).
Intern can apply for college credit (if applicable) or a receive a stipend.
