Support the Hippodrome’s artistic mission by becoming a graphic designer and public relations associate on its marketing team!

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and attention to detail, and be able to jump in and work within others’ designs to create social media images, postcards, campaigns, etc., as concepts for the next few shows have already been laid out.

Collaborative and Flexible should be key personality traits, as you are working with a lot of other artists, advertising their work, within an arts organization with a style guide and a mission and vision.

This position has the potential to grow into a higher level position, based on skills, rapport with staff, and portfolio.
Nonprofit-sized pay, with health benefits and sick & vacation time.

Skills Required:

High level knowledge of Adobe Suite, Photoshop CS5, InDesign, Word, Excel, and other commonly used PC programs
Knowledge of WordPress / Tumblr and Constant Contact or similar
Able to create files for print, digital, social media
Able to layout posters, multi-page booklets, double-sided fliers, and brochures
Able to work independently in a fast paced environment
Meet strict advertising and print deadlines
Working experience in public relations
Designing and executing successful public relations campaigns at both a local level a plus
Exceptional writing and editing skills
Solid experience with social media including blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
BA/MA degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or a related discipline
