In its 33rd season the Hippodrome has rolled out an opportunity for patrons to become a part of theatre through our seat campaign. By way of this campaign patrons can publicly show their personal dedication to the Hippodrome State Theatre.

One supporter to already take advantage of this endeavor is Jane Segal. For the last seventeen years Jane has been a devoted audience member at most all of the Hippodrome’s productions, her personal favorites being the Summer Musicals. Until recently she showed up at every production with her husband Robert, sadly he has passed away. When Jane learned of our seat campaign she saw an opportunity to have “an appropriate place to have something dedicated to him (her husband).” She acted and purchased a placard for the seat that he always sat in as a show of their love for the Hippodrome, and in memorial for her love of him. In being asked of her personal relationship with the Hippodrome State Theatre Jane had this to say, “I’m kind of connected at the hip to everyone there.”

A tax deductible donation of $500 will get you a personalized nameplate on one of our new state of the art plush seats good for honoring a family member, a loved one, or to celebrate your personal commitment to the arts. This nameplate will remain there for the life of the seat. To give you some idea on how long this would be our old seats lasted twenty years. For further information either e-mail the Hippodrome at development@thehipp.org or call Chris Sobbing at 352-373-5968.
