Programs and Outreach
The success of the Hippodrome has been made possible by strong support from our community. Please join us as a Member to ensure the continued development of the theatre’s inspirational programs.
Throughout the past 36 years, the theatre’s Mainstage has produced over 300 plays including 100 World, American and Southeastern premieres. The Hippodrome Mainstage has served over 1.5 million audience members. The Hipp Cinema has presented first run films for over a half million audience members. The Hipp’s award winning education and outreach programs include: Hippodrome Improvisational Teen Theatre and HITT International–internationally acclaimed prevention programs, Spring and Summer Spectacular– acting camps for young actors, the Intern Program, the Senior Playwright Festival, One City One Story, the Access Program and Theatre for Deaf Audiences-exposing diverse audiences to the arts. Education and outreach programs have inspired 2.5 million people. With your support, the Hippodrome will continue to have an extraordinary impact on our community by presenting public programming 340 days each year serving 200,000 people annually.
