Hippodrome Play Circle
Join us for this unique “book club” for plays.
Participants will get an insider’s view into the world of the script DEFIANCE by John Patrick Shanley, award-winning playwright of DOUBT, before it is brought to life on the Hippodrome mainstage. Classes will focus on reading and discussing the script and learning what makes scripts unique from other forms of writing.
Participants will also witness 1 working rehearsal of the play with the Hippodrome’s actors, director and stage manager and take part in lively discussions with the dramaturg who will lead this series. The Circle will culminate in a preview performance of the play with a post-show session with the cast and artistic team. Preview ticket included in price of series. Gift certificates can be issued in lieu of the preview tickets.
Dates: Class will be held from 3:30-5:30 pm, Thurs, Jan. 28, Feb. 4, Feb. 18 and from 7-10 pm on Wed. Feb 24 (performance and post-show session).
