Meet the Actors of


Casey Ford Alexander* (Simon)

returns to College after playing Rob in the NY reading and directing the mtvU award-winning music video for Good Enough for Now.  Theater: Tybalt in Romeo & Juliet (McCarter), Andrew Lippa's A Little Princess (TheatreWorks), Prince Music Theater, Media Theater.  Opera: La Croisade des Enfants (Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center), Pique Dame (Kennedy Center).  TV: Law & Order, Queens Supreme, Co-host on mtvU's The Freshmen, Nickelodeon's Nick News.  Pursing an A.B. in Politics at Princeton University.  Proud member of Actors Equity (since age 14) and the Screen Actors Guild.


Jennifer Anderson* (Officer Agnes)

is thrilled to return to the Hipp this summer!  Previous Hippodrome credits include The Great American Trailer Park Musical (Lin), Shout! The Mod Musical (Red Girl), Alice in Wonderland (Duchess), and the '06 and '07 productions of A Christmas Carol (Solicitor). Other credits include Grease (Jan) with the Roxy Theatre and A Christmas Carol (Nell) with NTC's east coast tour.  She can also be seen as the Fairy Godmother at the Dreams Come True show at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.  Jennifer holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Florida.


Nicholas Barnes* (Rob)

is honored to making his Hippodrome stage debut!  The Hipp is the very first professional theater he was ever exposed to and decided at that very moment he wanted to make a living as an actor.  Off Broadway credits include She Stoops To Conquer (Irish Repertory Theatre), Greenwillow (York Theatre Company) Workshop/Recordings Lingoland, Liberace: An American Musical Myth( Young Liberace).  Florida Theatre credits include Riverside Theatre, Seaside Music Theatre, Alhambra Dinner Theatre, Show Palace Dinner Theatre and The Mark Two Dinner Theatre.  Some favorite selected credits include Love, Sex, and The IRS (Leslie Arthur), Brighton Beach Memoirs( Stanley), The Lion In Winter (John), Our Town (George)  1776 (Courier), The Robberbridegroom (Goat) and Grease (Roger).  You can also catch Nick playing Jake Blues in The Blues Brother Show at Universal Orlando.  Proud member of Actors Equity.

Kimberly Bates (Katharine)

is thrilled to be making her debut here at the Hippodrome Theater.  Originally from Atlanta, GA, she holds a BFA in Musical Theater from Shorter College.  Most recently, Kim has been spending her time singing everything from country to disco to opera as a performer with Six Flags Over Georgia where she was seen in such shows as Days Go By,  A Grim Scarytale, Transylvanian Idol  and Dr. Fright’s Dead Man’s Party.  Some of her other favorite roles include: Lucy in Jekyll and Hyde, Laurey in Oklahoma!, Mayzie La Bird in Seussical: the Musical and Rosa Bud in The Mystery of Edwin Drood.


Marty Austin Lamar (Jay)

is a 2008 MFA graduate from the University of Florida and is ecstatic to be returning to the Hippodrome stage.  Some of his credits include: Crumbs From the Table of Joy (Godfrey), A Funny Thing Happened…Forum (Miles Gloriosus), Hamlet (King’s Ghost), Lysistrata,  the world premiere of Cornbread Man (Dexter), La Traviata (Barone), Dreamgirls (Jimmy), Black Nativity (Preacher), Don’t Bother Me, I Can’t Cope, Five Guys Named Moe (Big Moe) and The  Exonerated(David) for which he received a Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Irene Ryan Nomination.  Regional Credits include: A Christmas Carol (Ghost of Christmas Present) at The Hippodrome State Theatre, and Big River (Jim) at The Mill Mountain Theatre of Virginia.  Marty served as musical director for the Florida Player’s production of Sunday in the Park with George. www.MartyLamar.com

Jorgia McAfee (Amy)

is thrilled to return to the Hippodrome stage, having most recently appeared in A Christmas Carol as Dilber’s Sidekick.  Other Hippodrome credits include Night of the Living Dead, Sepulveda and Red Things and Sharp Edges.  Other favorite roles include Marian Paroo in The Music Man, Joy in Cinderella, Leslie Gore and Janis Ian in Beehive! The 60s Musical, Princess Puffer in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and Lucy Brown in The Threepenny Opera.  Jorgia is a proud member of the Actors' Equity Candidacy Program.



Jake McKenna (Nathan)

is thrilled to be playing Nathan, a naive, but loveable college freshman.  As a hardened, embittered college alum, he hopes his portrayal will be convincing.  Jake was last seen in the Florida Players production of Sunday in the Park with George.  Other favorite credits include Godspell and Urinetown.





Kim Mead (Sarah)

is delighted to be making her Hippodrome debut!  Kim is a 3rd year MFA Acting Candidate at UF.  She received her BA in Theatre from California State University, Fullerton.  UF credits:  Olivia – Twelfth Night; Charlotte - The Real Thing, Charlotta - The Cherry Orchard, Avis - Body of Water, Mrs. Flynn - American Western, and Cunningham - The Last Days of Judas Iscariot.




Mary Elizabeth Runyon (Lindsay)

is thrilled to be appearing in her first show at the Hippodrome. After studying for a year at Columbia College of Chicago, she transferred to the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York City. She is currently a student in the studio’s 2 year conservatory program. Favorite past productions include: Olivia in Twelfth Night, Bonnie in Anything Goes, Chava in Fiddler on the Roof, and Connie in 1940’s Radio Hour.




Jennifer Shorstein (Adrienne)

Jennifer Shorstein (Adrienne) is so thrilled to be in the premiere College: The Musical. She was last seen understudying the role of Jodi in the Hippodrome production of Pursuit of Happiness. Recent credits include Sunday in the Park with George (Celeste I) and Godspell with UF’s Florida Players. She also recently made her directing debut on campus with The Shape of Things. Jennifer is currently a third year history major at UF. Other credits include: I Pagliacci; Elixir of Love; Quilters with Opera at the Rockies; Andrea in Once on this Island.  Jennifer is also excited to have been crowned this year’s Miss Jewish Student Union at UF.


Bryant Smith (Eddie)

originally from Georgia, is a recent MFA (Acting) graduate from the University of Florida.  He is making his third appearance on the Hippodrome stage, having appeared as Danny in Smell of the Kill and as Matthew St. Germaine in the East Coast Premiere of The Sleeper.  Favorite onstage roles include:  Jean in Rhinoceros, Max in The Real Thing, Utterson in Jekyll & Hyde, Mr. Andrews in Titanic, Younger Brother in Ragtime, Mike in A Chorus Line, Cosmo in Singin’ In The Rain, Max in Lend Me A Tenor, Mozart in Amadeus, Satan in Last Days of Judas Iscariot, and Donny in American Buffalo.    www.bryantsmith.net.


Ted Stephens III* (Will)

returns to the Hippodrome after appearances as Duke in the U.S. regional premiere of The Great American Trailer Park Musical, Tom in Night of the Living Dead, and two seasons in A Christmas Carol, as the Ghosts of Jacob Marley and Christmas Present. Other favorite credits include Danny in the world premiere of American Western, Laertes in Hamlet, Adam in The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged), Bobby Child in Crazy for You, Finch in How to Succeed…, Matthew in Private Eyes and Jerry in The Zoo Story. Now residing in New York City, he has numerous national and regional film and commercial credits, most recently appearing in the HBO feature film Recount (with Kevin Spacey), readings for MCC Theater, and a commercial for Scope Mouthwash.
