Meet the Actors of

Cady West Garey* (Molly)

A Gainesville native, Cady spent several years working in Chicago after completing her BFA at the University of Florida and MFA at the University of Virginia. In Chicago, she studied with ImprovOlympic and worked with the Studio Z, The Women’s Theatre Alliance, OwMyEye Productions, Tinfish Productions, and Chicago Dramatists. Favorite roles include Marlene in Churchill’s Top Girls, Shelly in Sheppard’s Buried Child, Polina in Chekhov’s The Seagull, and Mrs. Smith in Ionesco’s The Bald Soprano. Cady is thrilled to make her Hippodrome debut with The Smell of the Kill.


Nell Page* (Debra)

Nell began her association with the Hippodrome more than 32 years ago. Since her first performance in Marat/Sade in 1974, Nell has appeared in more than 60 Hippodrome productions in all three Hippodrome locations. Nell has performed in over a dozen productions of the Hippodrome's A Christmas Carol in various roles including Mrs. Cratchit and the Ghost of Christmas Present. Gainesville audiences may have seen Nell in a recent production of Elvis People at the Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.




Laura Rohner* (Nickie)

Laura Rohner is pleased to return to the Hippodrome’s stage having last appeared as Gretchen in The Sleeper. Other Hippodrone credits include A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings, Nickel and Dimed, and the staged reading of Second. Ms. Rohner holds a BA in Theatre Arts from Viterbo University in LaCrosse, WI and an MFA in Acting from the University of Florida’s School of Theatre and Dance. UF credits include Queen Gertrude in Hamlet, Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Mrs. Prentice in What the Butler Saw, and Miriam of Magdalah in Hendeka/The Eleven. Prior to moving to Gainesville, Ms. Rohner worked for Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre, touring the Midwest in productions of Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, and Beauty and the Beast, among others. She also spent time as a company member at the Huron Playhouse, Ohio’s oldest continuing summer theatre. Other credits of note: Blanche in A Streetcar Named Desire, Nora in A Doll’s House, and Maggie in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Laura recently served a semester as Artist in Residence at Florida School of the Arts where she taught courses in acting and voice as well as a master class in Shakespeare’s works and performance. Ms. Rohner is a proud member of Actor’s Equity Association.
