Bryan Mercer
Shout! Musical Director

Bryan Mercer's first work with the Hippodrome was last summer's production of The Great American Trailer Park Musical, and he turned out to be exactly the right man for the job. The Hippodrome was so lucky to have Bryan's musical and technical abilities available to create the recorded sound track for The Great American Trailer Park Musical. Everyone at the Hipp enjoyed working with Bryan so much, we immediately started making plans to bring him back to Gainesville to work on another production. Luckily, Bryan was available to come back to Gainesville to work on our current summer musical Shout!
The Hippodrome’s Artistic Director Lauren Caldwell says, “Bryan Mercer came to us for the first time to collaborate on The Great American Trailer Park Musical. Everyone - the entire Hipp staff and the actors in the musical - all fell in love with Bryan. He is tremendously talented, and I’m proud to say he is now a member of our company. I am delighted to have him back again this summer for Shout!”
Bryan’s professional experience is as varied and intriguing as it gets! He has worked for over 26 years as an actor, singer, puppeteer, musician, composer, director, designer and painter. He has acted with the likes of Faye Dunaway, Peter Ustinov, Richard Widmark, Mick Jagger and partied with Eartha Kitt.
Shout! will be Bryan’s second show at the Hippodrome as Musical Director, and we all look forward to many more!
