Transport
Q: Is a car required for this internship?
A: Yes, Gainesville does not have the best public transit system and in order for you to get to work you will most likely need a car.
Q: Does the Hippodrome pay a relocation fee for out of town interns?
A: The Hippodrome State Theatre does not cover relocation travel for out of town interns.
Housing
Q: If I were to receive housing from the Hippodrome what would it be?
A: It is a fully furnished apartment. You may need to bring extra amenities but you will have a bed. Pets and smoking is not allowed in the apartments.
Q: Do I have to share the apartment?
A: If you receive housing from the Hippodrome you will be sharing the apartment with at lease one other intern. You will each have your own bedroom but share the rest of the apartment.
Q: What amenities are included if I receive housing?
A: Electricity, gas and water are included. Land line phones, internet and cable are not provided. There is public Wi-Fi downtown where the Hippodrome it located.
Q: Will I get a TV set, digital receiver box or computer in my apartment?
A: There is no guarantee; some apartments do have TVs but not all of them. No apartments have computers or digital receiver boxes for the TV.
Q: How much is the stipend?
A: The stipend varies and is not determined until the final part of the hiring process with the General Manager.
