The Grande Dames of the Hippodrome Theatre is a womens’ philanthropy group founded by Hippodrome Board Chair Betsy Styron. This group is set up to align with research from the Women’s Philanthropy Institute on how women prefer to give. It meets the Six C’s of Women’s Giving, which are create, change, connect, commit, collaborate and celebrate.
Women have always been at the heart of the Hippodrome’s artistic endeavors. In fact, the Hippodrome is one of only a handful of regional theatres in our country being run by women. As a female leader in our community, we would like to invite you to join us in a new women’s leadership circle by becoming part of the Hippodrome Grande Dames program.
The Hippodrome Grande Dames are unlike any other circle of women in Gainesville. Invitations to the Grand Dames program are being extended to women of leadership in our community. These are women who understand the value of uplifting the Hippodrome – our 44 year old cultural treasure – with their pledge of support.
You are involved our community because you care. Like other non-profit arts organizations, the Hipp cannot survive on ticket sales alone, and that the cultural grants we used to rely on are no longer a priority for lawmakers. Your Grand Dames membership makes it possible for the Hipp to continue to be a place of pride that Gainesville knows and loves!
Become a member of the Hippodrome family through your Grand Dames pledge of support!
