Work with the Hippodrome’s production team by participating supporting the Assistant to the Artistic Director. This internship includes working at the theatre during weekday office hours as well as during evening/weekend Mainstage performances.
Positions are available for Fall 2017 and Spring 2017. This is a part time internship.

Essential Position Functions:

  • Research information for Mainstage productions
  • Research new plays to be considered for the new Season
  • Read and give critical feedback on new plays
  • Coordinate with outside groups for panels and programs
  • Assist in creating relationships with groups in the community
  • Assist in creating and running outreach programs
  • Support marketing/advertising/outreach efforts, including: postering, tabling, etc.
  • Research potential grant opportunities
  • Fulfill any and all responsibilities outside of those listed above to be determined by the Managing Director or Artistic Director
  • Assist in administrative duties

Skill Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and other PC programs
  • Ability to conduct research
  • Flexibility, positive attitude, and a willingness to commit to hard work and a demanding schedule
  • Ability to think on feet and step into unfamiliar roles
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high energy artistic environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with different personality types
  • Self motivated
  • Good customer service skills
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License with own transportation
