The Arts Administration Internship provides excellent experience in preparation for work in the general non-profit field, particularly the arts.
This internship includes working at the theatre during weekday office hours as well as during evening/weekend Mainstage performances.
Positions are available for Fall 2017 and Spring 2018. This is a part time internship. Reports to the Director of Operations.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide administrative support in the areas of grants, management, marketing, budgeting, education, and operations
  • Assist theatre staff in areas of community-building including communication and planning with various departments: development, education, production, cinema and public programs
  • Provide research for administrative and artistic projects
  • Write letters and text for administrative and artistic projects
  • Assist in the preparation of grant applications and reports, including proofreading of administrative and artistic text
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and schedules as a tool for tracking deadlines and submission activities
  • General intern assignments during morning, afternoon, and evening hours including but not limited to mail-outs, postering, openings, strike, sales campaigns and special events

Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, InDesign, Photoshop and other commonly used PC programs
  • Knowledge of WordPress and Constant Contact or similar
  • Ability to conduct research
  • Flexibility, positive attitude, and a willingness to commit to hard work and a demanding schedule
  • Ability to think on feet and step into unfamiliar roles
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high energy artistic environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with different personality types
  • Self motivated
  • Good customer service skills
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License with own transportation
