Hippodrome Scene Study


The Hippodrome Theatre and Education Department are pleased to announce a SCENE STUDY CLASS for young actors ages 9 to 15. The course introduces young actors to script and character analysis. The class will include beat analysis, vocal work (Lessac), and movement (stage pictures). Scenes and monologues will be chosen from different styles and periods, ranging from Shakespeare to contemporary plays. The aim of the class is to create scenes and monologues that flow together into an interesting and enjoyable performance for friends and family on the last class.

The class will be taught by Matthew Lindsay M.F.A. and Sarah Swanson. Both are members of the award winning Hippodrome teaching staff.

Classes start October 13 and go to November 17, 2008 MONDAYS @ 3:45 pm to 5:15 pm. Pick up will be between 5:15 and 5:30 pm on the front steps of the Hippodrome.

Cost: $190.00 ($180.00 class tuition plus $10. materials/lab fee)

FINAL FEES DUE AT FIRST CLASS

Lab fee to include script, snack, and 2 tickets to performance. Additional performance recital tickets will be available for $5.
