Hippodrome Education: Learn with the Hipp!

The Hipp provides quality arts education for all ages. Our camps and classes are led by the region’s most dynamic and experienced teachers. Children are supported as an individual in a non-competitive, enriching environment through a spirit of inclusion, acceptance, and positivity. The Hippodrome also offers Hipp-provisation classes and a Spring Play Observership for adults.

Scene Study for Adults

JANUARY 26 - MARCH 9 • 6:15 to 7:30PM

(Ages 18-80) This is a workshop-style class that will focus on acting skills and character analysis. Students will rehearse and workshop scenes from a variety of plays, including works from Shakespeare and contemporary playwrights. While rehearsing the scenes, students will learn how to analyze a scene, find and explore beats, and discover character arcs.

Spring Break is entertaining and educational at the Hipp! Young people will have a great time in this full-day and affordable camp where they stay busy and engaged in all aspects of theatre, acting, film, dance and fun.

Summer Camps

Session 1 (ages 7-18)
June 8-26, 2015 • 9AM-5PM

Session 2 (ages 7-18)
July 6-24, 2015 • 9AM-5PM

In this three week, full-day theatre camp, juniors and teens explore the professional theatre process. The classes are taught by experienced theatre artists and include workshops with the theatre's award winning artistic staff. Students learn all aspects of play production including marketing, props, lighting, set and costume design while rehearsing for the camp's finale: performing in a full-scale Hippodrome play or musical!

We also offer a two-week, half-day camp for your littlest stars.
