Child & Teen Acting Classes

Do you have an aspiring young star? Sign-up your young performer for Monday after school acting classes at the Hipp. This is a great opportunity for kids ages 8-17 to sharpen their acting skills, build self-esteem, and have fun with our talented and dedicated education staff.

Spring Break Camps

Don't let your kids spend spring break in front of a TV or gaming console. Our Spring Break-A-Leg camps coincide with Alachua County Public School’s spring break. These full day camps are available for Juniors (Ages 7-12) and Teens (Ages 13-17). Topics include everything from Shakespeare to puppets to filmmaking!

Summer Camps

The Hippodrome’s Summer Spectacular Camps are the region’s only theatre camps where kids learn and play in a professional venue. Our full-day, month long camps for Juniors & Teens offer campers a chance to learn about all aspects of a theatrical production. We also offer half-day camps for 5 & 6 year-olds. Hippodrome Improvisational Teen Theatre (HITT)

Since 1984, HITT has been using improvisational theatre to offer students a way to creatively and safely explore their attitudes about alcohol & drug abuse and other social & health issues. HITT gives participants the knowledge and skills they need to protect themselves from addiction, violence and other harmful behaviors.

Kids shouldn’t have ALL the fun! The Hippodrome offers exciting and educational programs for adults, like our Play Observerships which offer participants an up-close and behind-the-scenes look at what goes into creating a theatrical production.
