Looking for theatre lessons and resources for your students? Would you like to have a Hippodrome theatre specialist visit your classroom? Look no further! The Hippodrome is expanding its offerings to area students and teachers. Check back often to learn more about professional development opportunities and resource materials that will help you bring literature to life!
Bring the magic of theatre into your classroom!
Members of the Hippodrome’s Educational and Artistic teams are available for classroom visits to conduct Theatre Exploration Workshops, curriculum-based, hands-on activities on a variety of topics including improvisation, puppetry, creating theatrical adaptations from literature, and more!
We are also happy to attend your school’s Career Day activities to share our love of working in theatre, teach students about the wide variety of careers available, and highlight the education and training needed to prepare for a theatre career.

Take your students on a field trip to the Hipp!
Create a holiday tradition in your school by bringing your students to the Hippodrome’s annual production of A Christmas Carol. The Hippodrome Theatre is proud to offer school day matinees to area students for only $8. School day matinees are generally scheduled twice a year: in November and December for A Christmas Carol, and in April and May when the Hippodrome produces a family-friendly comedy, adventure or whodunit.
Our 2012-2013 Student Matinee Series will feature A Christmas Carol in November and December and Robin Hood in April and May.

Professional Development for Educators
The Hippodrome Theatre is planning to offer Theatre Explorations Workshops for area educators! These workshops are intended for Language Arts, reading and other content area teachers. Workshops objectives include learning more about how educators can integrate hands-on theatre activities into your existing curricula to improve reading fluency, vocabulary building, problem-solving skills and more.
