Scene Study Class


Students will work with partners to develop scenes, emphasizing character development, plot and overall script analysis. This class is for middle and high school students.

Scene Study will be taught by Matthew Lindsay, who holds a B.A. in Theatre from CSUB, and is an MFA candidate studying theatre at the University of Florida. Matthew has been in numerous productions ranging from contemporary to Shakespeare, and has a strong background in voice (Lessac), acting, and script analysis. Emphasis in the class will be placed in these disciplines.


Each eight week class will culminate with a performance.

Hippodrome Spring Theatre Class


Have you ever wanted to be an actor, director, or playwright? A new eight week class for elementary school students designed and taught by Betsy Foster and Aaron Ganas of the Hippodrome education department will explore the theatre as a collaborative and multifaceted art form. The course will include units on acting, directing, designing, playwriting, dance, and improv.

Classes will be held at The Hippodrome Theatre.

Dates: February 1st - March 22nd, 2010
