Film Festivals

 

Refugees in Film will be taking place at the Hippodrome on select Tuesdays through spring.


The Jewish Council of North Central Florida is proud to once again partner with the Center for Jewish Studies at the University of Florida to offer ten days of compelling and provocative films from around the world. The festival will kick off on Sunday, March 19 and will run through Saturday, April 1. Most screenings will be held at 7:00 pm, unless otherwise noted. 


Experience the Cuban Film Festival  by attending one or all three films during the event hosted by the Hippodrome.

 

Schedule is as follows:

Friday, March 24:

6:00 pm – Before Night Falls

8:30 pm – Chico y Rita

Saturday, March 25:

1:00 pm – Playing Lacuona

3:30 pm – Before Night Falls

Sunday, March 26:

7:00 pm – Chico y Rita

Tickets are $9 per film.


If you're looking for a place to screen films or hold a film festival, look no further than Gainesville's only art house cinema! The Hippodrome Cinema has the space and equipment to host a film festival for your group. In the past, the Gainesville Latino Film Festival, the Jewish Film Festival, and Cinevie have all been held at the Hipp Cinema.
