Dear Hippodrome Cinema Patrons,

Adapting to changing circumstances is critical for survival. Since the Hippodrome Cinema opened its doors in 1982, we've witnessed the advent of the VCR, DVD, BlueRay, big screen video, small screen multiplexes and the decline of arts funding in our country. Our cinema program has survived these cultural and historical changes because of the support of people like you who know that our theatre is very important to their community and to themselves.

We know that affordable entertainment is meaningful when times are tough.. We are not canceling shows, we are not reducing member benefits and we most importantly, we are not reducing the caliber of films. We take our responsibility of being your art movie house seriously, and we do our best to provide the steady, high quality service you expect.

Right now, the Hippodrome Theatre needs your help to adapt to drastic funding cuts. Between the cuts from the state, local and federal government, the Hippodrome Theatre is facing historic cuts of more than 70%. Loss of arts funding and corporate support create a challenge to maintaining our funding at a level that we need to operate. We need to adapt once again and we need your help.

Your investment in the Hippodrome Cinema helps us to adapt to unexpected cuts and supports not only a valuable institution, but also the economic vitality of our community. If the Hippodrome Cinema matters to you, there are many ways you can help:
