The Hippodrome State Theatre
presents
the 19th Annual Production of

A Christmas Carol

Adapted for the stage by Mary Hausch

December 3-22

Rusty Salling as Ebenezer Scrooge
The Hippodrome returns to Charles Dickens' London of 1843 for the 19th time to retell the ghostly tale of literature's most miserly and mean-spirited curmudgeon, Ebenezer Scrooge.
Journey with Scrooge through the longest night of his life, when the Spirits of the Past, Present and Future show him the error of his ways.
Along the way we meet the long-suffering yet loyal clerk, Bob Cratchit and his family, including the angelic Tiny Tim, the doomed ghost of Jacob Marley dragging his chains through eternity, the silly, joyful Mr. and Mrs. Fezziwig, the festive duo from Scrooge's youth, and the beautiful Belle, whose love he lost many years before.
Although alive with eye-popping special effects and hysterical humor, A Christmas Carol remains a journey of the human spirit, demonstrating the worst and best that we can be.

A Christmas Carol Curriculum Guide

As in years past, the Hippodrome will be collecting canned goods and new toys for the disadvantaged.
Over the years, numerous organizations in the Gainesville area including the Salvation Army, SPARC and the Sidney Lanier Center have come to depend on the Hippodrome's food and toy drive to help brighten the holidays for the less fortunate.
Our suggeted donation is two canned food items or one new toy per admission.
Please help keep this holiday tradition alive!
