Dance Alive! will present a short ballet performance featuring Brazilian artists Carla Amâncio and Fhilipe Teixeire. Performances will take place on Saturday, June 2 after the 4:30pm show and the second will be before the 6:30pm show of “First Position.”

CARLA AMÂNCIO was born in Brazil and trained at the Grupo Corpo Ballet School until joining Ballet Cristina Helena where she was featured soloist. Ms. Amâncio was then invited to join Sesiminas Dance Company where she performed as First Soloist until beginning a freelance career as guest artist.
FHILIPE TEIXEIRA graduated from the Cristina Helena School in Brazil in 2005 and immediately was asked to join the Sesiminas Dance Company and was subsequently promoted to soloist in 2006. He won the Silver Medal at Brazil’s Joinville Ballet competition and in 2007 was promoted to Principal Dancer with Sesiminas Dance Company. He is considered one of the greatest talents in the country at this time.
